5 things to know about Mike Sundt, Interim Orchestra Director
Please welcome Mike Sundt as interim orchestra director. Here’s 5 things you should know about him, over and above his impressive teaching and directing resume.
He is first and foremost a string player - Mike’s studied double bass for 18 years.
His favorite orchestral piece is O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen.
His most memorable performance experience is performing with jazz trumpet legend Bobby Shew during his undergraduate studies.
Outside the music rooms, he likes to enjoy nature, boxing, various sports, and listening to his records.
After 10 years in the Central District music community “I am so excited to be in a position to work with Garfield’s orchestras and looking forward to highlighting the work of our amazing students.”
